South Africa visit 11th - 25th February 2009

The trip is divided into three parts:

Phase One - Cape Town and Stellenbosch

We propose to re-visit the School of Hope for children at risk in Cape Town and then move to the wine growing region around Stellenbosch. Here we are planning to help set up a Pre School for children who suffer from Foetal Alcohol Syndrome.

Phase Two - Garden Route to Tsitsikamma National Park

We hope that there will be a trip along the Garden Route with visits to the semi desert and possibly to Tsitsikamma National Park which is set in a sub-tropical rain forest.  There may even be an opportunity for an elephant back safari.

Phase Three - School of Hope, Cape Town

We will revisit the School of Hope in Cape Town and say goodbye to the young people who will have accompanied us as trainee tour guides.                    

From our final base at Fishhoek we would expect to visit Robben Island, Table Mountain, the penguins at Simonstown, and, of course, the beach.

Proposed cost: £1,500.
