Need help fast?

In an emergency if you or someone else has seriously injured themselves or is on the point of doing so:

Phone 999 or go directly to A&E

If you need help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency:

Call 111 (Open 24 hours). The person you speak to will ask questions about how you are with are feeling. They may put you in touch with another support service or your GP.

Contact your GP and ask for an urgent appointment

Speak to someone – do let someone you trust know how you are feeling

Who can help?

There is lots of help available to you in and outside school if you want to talk about your mental health:

In the lower school, you could talk to:

● Your tutor, Head of Year, Pastoral Manager or a member of staff you feel comfortable talking to;
● Any member of staff wearing a lanyard with green Beechen Cliff Mental Health emblem on it;
● The School Nurse who you can text on: 07507 334357;
● Tara Gretton  for Solution Focused confidential support, Off the Record for confidential counselling, listening support or talking therapy in the school’s dedicated counselling suite. Pupils request an appointment with their Head of Year.

In the Sixth Form, you could talk to:

● Your tutor, Mrs Watts, Ms Price, Miss Mather or any member of the Sixth Form Team or a member of staff you feel comfortable talking to;
● Any member of staff wearing a lanyard with green Beechen Cliff emblems on it;
● The School Nurse, who you can text on: 07507 334357
● Susie Ingram for Solution Focused confidential support, Off the Record for confidential counselling, listening support or talking therapy in the school’s dedicated counselling suite. Students request an appointment with their Mrs Watts, Ms Price or Miss Mather.

Counselling support is confidential, unless counsellors believe you have told them something that suggests you or someone else is unsafe. This will be explained to you more in your first session and is the same for any teacher or other member of staff at school.
