Bands Nights are a very important and incredibly popular part of the social calendar at Beechen Cliff, providing a platform for student bands and groups to perform in front of their peers, families, and members of staff. Students from all year groups are given the opportunity to hone their skills onstage in a professional live music environment. Previous bands have performed popular songs by bands such as The Killers, Muse, AC/DC, Oasis and The Arctic Monkeys, as well as many acts showcasing original material. Performing at these events gives our student bands invaluable live experience and previous acts have gone on to play professional gigs at Moles venue in Bath and Glastonbury Festival.

There is at least one whole school Bands Night every year and there are also smaller events for Sixth Form students or Lower School pupils only. These nights are always well attended and often offer food and drink refreshments to accompany the live entertainment. The School’s PTA regularly run a fully-licensed bar at these events and, together with the school, have helped to raise a significant amount of money for charities in recent years.

Bands Nights are organised and run by the School’s Music Technician Mr. Harriman, along with help from students and other members of staff. If pupils would like to learn more about these events and how to get involved, please get in touch via music@beechencliff.org.uk

Keep an eye on the School Calendar for upcoming Bands Night dates.
