Outdoor and adventure activities are a huge and popular part of life at Beechen Cliff.  Many of our pupils take on these challenges and events in wild locations around the UK and abroad.  These activities foster skills of independence and teamwork as well as developing personal confidence and character.  It comes as no surprise that such activities also promote increased aspiration in the classroom and independence in learning.

Each year the following outdoor adventure trips take place with additional trips added wherever possible:

  • Tir-y-Cwm Visits
  • Kayaking Trips
  • Duke of Edinburgh expeditions at Bronze, Silver and Gold level
  • Ten Tors training and event
  • Centurion Challenge
  • Coast-to-Coast Cycle Ride
  • Three Peaks (every two years)
  • Climbing trips to the Lake District or the Alps
